Rick Nielsen

Rick Nielsen is an experienced manager in the nuclear power industry, currently serving as the Manager of Events Analysis at the Institute of Nuclear Power Operations (INPO) since 2007. In this role, Rick oversees a team of 10 analysts responsible for assessing the significance of events and analyzing power plant performance to inform industry leaders of trends. Prior to this, Rick held a similar managerial position at INPO from 2004 to 2007, managing 14 evaluators focused on maintenance, work management, and outage management at commercial nuclear power plants globally. Rick's career also includes positions in electrical maintenance at STP Nuclear Operating Company and service as a submarine officer in the U.S. Navy. Education credentials include a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from the United States Naval Academy and studies at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
