Frances Shaw

Frances Shaw is an experienced professional with a strong background in event management and program leadership, currently serving as the Head of Programmes at the Institution of Mechanical Engineers since September 2018. In this role, Frances leads the Events and Member Engagement Team, overseeing the development and delivery of a diverse portfolio of events. Previously, as an Event Production Team Lead, Frances managed senior stakeholder communications and produced various events, including conferences and seminars. Prior experience includes roles as a Content Producer at Front Line Genomics, where significant growth in attendee seniority and pharmaceutical representation was achieved, and experience in business development and project management within the life sciences sector. Frances holds a Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Genetics from The University of Manchester, complemented by various internships and summer roles in academia and service industries.
