Elena Aparici Vazquez is a member of the State Commercial Technicians and Economists. Degree in Economics and Business Sciences, General Economy branch, Quantitative Economics and Economic Analysis at the Universidad Complutense de Madrid, Masters in Management of Portolios from the IEB, and Leadership Programme for Public Sector Management from the IESE.
She has been the Director-General of the Treasury and Financial Policy between 2018 and 2020. She has previously held various positions of responsibility in the General Secretariat of the Treasury and Financial Policy such as the Deputy Director-General of the Treasury and Executive Advisor in different areas. Previously she held various positions as an Adviser to Spain's Executive Director for the International Monetary Fund, Executive Advisor for international economics in the cabinet of the Second Vice-President of the Government and Minister of Economy and Finance, Executive Advisor to the President of the National Commission on Competition's office and the Minister of Education and Science's office. She began her career in various positions of responsibility in the General Directorate of Community Funds.
She is currently Director-General of Economic Policy and board member of the Instituto de Crédito Oficial.
