Deborah Laferriere currently serves as the Director for the Insurance Brokers Association of Canada and as Past President of the Toronto Insurance Council since March 2022. Since September 2004, Deborah has been a Partner at Purves Redmond Limited, a Canadian risk management advisory and insurance brokerage firm established in 1959, offering various services including risk management and claims management. Prior to this, Deborah held the position of Vice President at Marsh Canada Limited from 1986 to 2002. Deborah Laferriere completed a Bachelor’s degree at Wilfrid Laurier University between 1984 and 1988.

The Insurance Brokers Association of Canada (IBAC) is the national voice of property and casualty insurance brokers and an advocate for insurance consumers, representing their interests to the Government of Canada. IBAC also works to elevate the status of insurance brokers through professional development and by establishing improved standards of qualification and ethical practice. IBAC also maintains licensing courses and education programs for brokers.
