Janet Ruiz, CPCU, AIM has a diverse work experience spanning over four decades. Janet began their career as a Stage Lighting Director at Way Productions in 1973. Later, they joined State Farm Insurance Company in 1989, where they served as a Public Affairs Manager and Underwriting Supervisor. Janet worked in various capacities, including Media Relations, Community Relations, and Government Relations, until 2006. After leaving State Farm, Janet joined Allianz Group as a Public Relations Manager, supporting the brand and business initiatives at Allianz/Fireman's Fund Insurance. Their responsibilities included public relations, social media, media relations, corporate responsibility, marketing, and thought leadership. In 2015, they became the California Representative for the Insurance Information Institute, where they focused on improving public understanding of property and casualty insurance and disaster preparedness. Concurrently, Janet volunteered as a Communications/Public Relations Volunteer for Wells Fargo Center for the Arts from 2010 to 2012. Janet also served as a Board Member and Volunteer for Women's Initiative from 2000 to 2011. Currently, Janet holds the position of Director of Strategic Communication at the Insurance Information Institute.
Janet Ruiz, CPCU, AIM, completed their undergraduate education from 1996 to 1998 at Thomas Edison State University, where they earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration/Communications. Prior to this, they attended St Joseph's Notre Dame High School in Alameda, CA, but the duration and specific qualifications obtained during that time are not provided. In terms of additional certifications, Janet obtained the Leadership Skills Certificate from Dale Carnegie Training, affiliated with The Institutes, in July 2021.
