Florian Wimber

Florian Wimber is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in advocacy, public affairs, and insurance. Currently serving as the Director of Advocacy & Public Affairs and Solvency II Lead at Insurance Ireland since April 2018, Florian Wimber has also held roles such as Acting Director Communications and Head of European Affairs and International Insurance. Prior to this, Florian Wimber worked at the Ministry of Economy and Finance as an Advisor for Insurance and Pensions, and at the Centre for International Migration and Development as an Integrated Expert in Insurance and Pension. Florian Wimber's earlier experience includes serving as Deputy Head and Acting Head of the European Office at GDV Gesamtverband der Deutschen Versicherungswirtschaft e.V., and various policy advisor roles. Florian Wimber holds a Diplom Volkswirt in Economics from the University of Cologne and has studied Economics at Trinity College Dublin.
