Derek Smith

Derek Smith has a strong background in software development and management. Derek began their career at OMI Logistics as a Computer Services Manager from 1994 to 1997. From there, they worked as a Software Developer at Alldays Stores Ltd in 1997 and at BCT Business Systems Ltd from 1998 to 2000. Derek then joined Progressive Solutions International, where they were a Software Developer from 2000 to 2012. In 2012, they moved to Epicor Software and held various positions, including Software Developer, Senior Software Developer, and Development Manager. Derek played a key role in leading the transition of the ERP product from VB6 to C#. In 2017, Derek joined Intact Software as an IQ Developer.

Derek Smith obtained a BSc (Hons) degree in Business Information Technology from the University of Westminster from 1993 to 1994. Prior to that, they pursued a HND degree in Business Information Technology at Manchester Polytechnic from 1991 to 1992. In addition to their academic qualifications, Derek also holds several certifications including: Microsoft Certified Technology Specialist: Microsoft Dynamics NAV 2009 C/SIDE Solution Development obtained from Microsoft in May 2012, Microsoft Certified Dynamics legacy: Navision Programming 3.01 obtained from Microsoft in March 2007, and MCPS: Microsoft Certified Professional obtained from Microsoft in December 2003.
