Lead Manufacturing Engineer at Integrated Graphene

Alastair Graves has a diverse work experience history. Alastair is currently working as the Lead Manufacturing Engineer at Integrated Graphene since February 2021. Prior to this, from June 2017 to January 2021, they worked at Perkins Engines Company Limited as a Manufacturing Engineer. At Perkins Engines, they were responsible for providing and improving hardware and software for production testing of large diesel engines. Alastair also led multiple capital investments and implemented lead manufacturing principles to enhance product quality and customer experience.

Before their role at Perkins Engines, Alastair worked as an Engineering Intern at hurleypalmerflatt for seven weeks. Alastair gained experience in various departments and projects related to renewable energy, building services engineering, railway switch-gear design, and sustainability auditing and regulation compliance.

In 2014, Alastair had two internships. Alastair completed a five-week internship at Huawei Technologies in China, where they received training in telecoms and electronics engineering and gained experience in cleanroom production lines. Alastair also completed a two-week language course in Mandarin at Beijing University of Language and Culture. Additionally, they were a Founder member of Engineers Without Borders - Oxford and contributed to creating the organization and developing a project focused on addressing waste.

Alastair's earliest work experience was as a Year in Industry student at Aggreko UK Ltd from August 2011 to June 2012. During this time, they worked on a project to optimize and standardize generator assembly using cellular manufacturing techniques. Alastair also assisted the Facilities Manager by creating a preventative maintenance system for a new manufacturing facility and managing contract transfers with contractors.

Alastair Graves attended the High School of Glasgow from 2005 to 2011, during which they did not pursue any specific degree or field of study. In 2012, they enrolled at the University of Oxford and successfully completed a Master of Engineering (MEng) in Engineering Science between 2012 and 2016. Additionally, in 2012, they obtained a CMI Certificate in Management from UHI, specializing in Business Administration and Management.
