Brian Galvez

Brian Galvez is an accomplished fish biologist currently employed at NOAA Fisheries since August 2023, with prior experience as a gear researcher at NOAA from October 2020. Responsibilities have included developing and testing fishing gear to reduce bycatch, managing projects related to on-demand fishing technologies, and conducting protected species sampling. Galvez has also served as a fisheries technician at the Delaware Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control, where duties involved electrofishing, environmental reviews, and coordination with regulatory agencies. Educational achievements include a Master of Science in Natural Resources - Fisheries from Delaware State University and a Bachelor of Science in Marine Fisheries Biology from Humboldt State University. Galvez has extensive field experience across various marine and freshwater environments, with strong expertise in ecological monitoring, data analysis, and collaborative research initiatives.
