John Cooney

John Cooney has extensive experience in the medical device industry, with their most recent role being Vice President of Research and Development at Integer Holdings Corporation. In this position, they oversee the Global R&D team for the Cardio and Vascular Group. Prior to this, they served as Divisional Vice President of Research and Development at Abbott Rapid Diagnostics.

Before joining Abbott, Cooney held several roles at Boston Scientific spanning over two decades. These roles included Senior Director of R&D, Site Director, Director of Process Development, Director of Engineering, and various positions in quality, production, and engineering management. John also worked as a Research and Development Engineer at Inamed Corporation.

John Cooney obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Engineering (Mechanical) from the University of Limerick, Ireland in 1996. John then went on to earn a Master of Arts degree in Engineering Management from University College Dublin, Ireland in 2002.
