Jarrod Hicks

Jarrod Hicks is an experienced professional in the field of intellectual property, currently serving as the Director of Intellectual Property at Intellectual Property Ontario since June 2023. Prior to this role, Jarrod worked as a Patent Attorney at Invoke IP from May 2018 to June 2023, where responsibilities included drafting patent applications and managing prosecution in the U.S. and internationally. Jarrod was a Principal Patent Attorney at Zilka-Kotab, PC from December 2007 to May 2018, focusing on writing patent applications and responding to office actions. Earlier experience includes serving as a Control Systems Engineer at Fluor Enterprises, Inc. and a Sales Support Engineer at Associated Process Controls, as well as an Applications Engineer at Fisher Controls. Jarrod holds a J.D. in Intellectual Property from Santa Clara University School of Law and has a dual Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics and Chemical Engineering from the University of Iowa.
