Richard Harris has a diverse work experience in various companies and roles. Richard started their career at Ingalls Shipbuilding as an Applications Programmer/Systems Programmer in 1984. Richard then worked as a Marketing Representative/Systems Analyst at Honeywell from 1986 to 1990. Following that, Richard joined Xerox as a System Analyst from 1990 to 1993. Richard then became an Associate at Weil, Gotshal & Manges LLP from 1996 to 1999, before being promoted to Mid-Level Associate and ultimately to Senior Associate from 2000 to 2004. Richard then moved to Ericsson and worked as the Director of Patent Licensing for North America from 2005 to 2010. Currently, they hold the position of Vice President of Licensing at Intellectual Ventures, which they have held since 2010.

Richard Harris attended Rice University from 1980 to 1984, where they earned a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science. Later, they pursued further education at Vanderbilt University Law School from 1993 to 1996, where they obtained a Doctor of Law - JD degree.
