Amanda Knights has been a software engineer for over 20 years. Amanda began their career in 1997 at Protecnic Computers as a Software Developer, where they used Agile to design, develop, and test software, and was largely involved in the integration of a mental health system into another platform. In 2005, they joined Ascribe Ltd as a Senior Developer, where they built and maintained Mental Health systems, and wrote software for standard NHS data reports such as MHMDS and NDTMS. From 2015 to 2020, they worked at EMIS Health as a Senior Developer, collaborating on two exciting projects which involved learning many skills to complete the tasks. The Agile approach was used with use of Jira, Confluence and Slack. Source control was in Git/GitHub and the team followed workflow guidelines for task management. The BNF project was to integrate a browser for BNF with EMIS platform and used web front end Angular and typescript. In 2020, they joined IntelliSense.io as a Senior Software Engineer.

Amanda Knights attended Loughborough University from 1992 to 1996, where they obtained a Bsc in Applied Mathematics in 1995 and a Masters in Mathematical Modelling in 1996. Her Masters focused on Mathematics modelling with comutin.
