L. Shay Torres

L. Shay Torres has diverse work experience in various roles and industries.

Starting in 2008, Shay worked as an Intern at The Conflict Resolution Center, where they provided administrative and investigative support for a mediation and conflict resolution non-profit.

From 2010 to 2012, Shay worked as a Paralegal at THE LAW OFFICE OF JOHN P. FRYE, P.C. They provided legal and administrative support in a collections litigation firm.

In 2012, Shay joined Virginia Tech as a Graduate Research and Teaching Assistant for the Department of Sociology. Their responsibilities included research, data collection, and communication with undergraduate students. They later also served as a Research Assistant and Curriculum Developer.

In 2015, Shay joined Giles County Department of Social Services as a Family Services Specialist/Investigator. They investigated complaints related to abuse and neglect, provided case information and community resources, and assisted in legal proceedings.

From 2016 to 2019, Shay worked as a Staff Auditor at Louisiana Legislative Auditor. They conducted performance audits, examined internal audit functions, and evaluated programs, funds, and activities across state agencies.

Shay then joined Louisiana State University in 2020 as an Assistant to the Assistant Vice President and Director of Admissions. They held this role until 2022.

Currently, Shay works as a Business Analyst at IntePros Federal, starting in 2022.

L. Shay Torres holds a Master's Degree in Sociology from Virginia Tech, which was obtained in 2016. Prior to that, Torres completed a Bachelor's Degree in Sociology from the same institution in 2010.
