Isabel Mejia Rivas

Isabel Mejia Rivas is a seasoned professional in trade and investment, currently serving as the Coordinator for Regional Programs at the Inter-American Development Bank since July 2012. In this role, Isabel manages the Andean Region Hub's portfolio and oversees a $12 million loan project for the Colombian government aimed at attracting foreign direct investment and developing a competitive local services sector. Isabel's prior experience includes consulting at the Inter-American Development Bank, conducting analyses to enhance foreign investment strategies for the services sector, and co-leading a program for Peruvian SMEs in e-commerce with Alibaba. Earlier career positions included Junior Associate at Munoz Tamayo y Abogados and Research Fellow at the Superintendence of Commerce and Industry, where Isabel focused on antitrust legislation and participated in due diligence for telecom deals. Isabel holds multiple advanced degrees, including a Master of Laws from New York University School of Law and executive education in Trade Policy from Harvard Kennedy School.
