Maria del Pilar Amador

Maria del Pilar Amador, CFA, currently serves as the Chief of Credit and Capital Risk Management at the Inter-American Development Bank, a position held since October 2017, where responsibilities include overseeing credit risk and capital management for sovereign-guaranteed lending operations totaling $115 billion. Prior to this role, Maria served as the Head of Investment Risk Management at the same institution, managing a liquid investment portfolio of $35 billion. Previous experience includes Chief Risk Officer at Positiva Compañía de Seguros, Head of Risk Management at Sura Asset Management, and various roles in financial risk and treasury management at institutions such as ING Colombia and Colombia Telecomunicaciones. Maria holds a Master’s degree in Banking and International Finance from Le Havre Normandy University and a Bachelor’s degree in Finance and International Relations from Universidad Externado de Colombia, along with executive education from Harvard Business School in Investment Management.
