Osmel Manzano

Regional Economic Advisor. Country Department For Andean Group at Inter-American Development Bank

Osmel Manzano is a seasoned economist with extensive experience in macroeconomic analysis and policy advising. Currently serving as a Regional Economic Advisor at the Inter-American Development Bank since September 2007, Osmel leads teams focused on economic work and macroeconomic monitoring in both the Andean Region and Central America, Mexico, and the Dominican Republic. In addition to this role, Osmel holds adjunct professor positions at Georgetown University, teaching courses in Oil Economics and Energy Security, and serves as an adjunct faculty member at IESA. Previous roles include significant academic contributions, such as instructing courses at The George Washington University and Universidad Catolica Andres Bello, alongside professional experience at Corporacion Andina de Fomento and a visiting fellowship at Harvard University. Osmel earned a Ph.D. in Economics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and a degree in Economics from UCAB.
