Emily Alcott has a diverse work experience in various roles related to fluvial geomorphology, ecological restoration, and ecosystem services. Emily worked at Inter-Fluve as a Principal Ecologist & Fluvial Geomorphologist, where they contributed their expertise in these fields. Prior to that, Emily was a Fluvial Geomorphologist/Ecologist at the same company, where they specialized in fluvial geomorphic analysis and design, construction management, and wetland delineation. Emily also worked as an Editor & Project Manager at the Yale Program for Emerging Markets for Ecosystem Services, overseeing the coordination of research and writing efforts for a manuscript on optimizing the delivery of public drinking water supplies. Additionally, Emily has experience as a Watershed Restoration/Ecosystem Services Consultant at the Bonneville Environmental Foundation, a Program Coordinator & Researcher at the Yale Program for Conservation Innovation, a Teaching Fellow at Yale University, a River Restoration & Water Quality Intern at The Nature Conservancy, and a Water Quality Researcher at the Appalachian Mountain Club.
Emily Alcott has a Master of Environmental Science degree (MESc) in Water Science, Policy, and Management from Yale School of the Environment, which they obtained from 2008 to 2010. Prior to that, they completed their Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Biology from Hobart and William Smith Colleges from 2003 to 2007. In addition to their formal education, Emily has earned a Professional Certificate in Wetland Delineation from Portland State University. Emily also holds certifications as a Professional Wetland Scientist from the Society of Wetland Scientists - Professional Certification Program, obtained in 2016, and as a Certified Ecologist from the Ecological Society of America, obtained in 2014.
