Michael "Howie" Howatson

Michael "Howie" Howatson is the interim Head of Design at Interactio. Prior to this, they were the SVP Creative at Rangle.io from March 2018 to December 2019 and the VP Design / ECD at MetaLab from March 2017 to December 2017.

At MetaLab, Howie restructured and evolved a successful, but tactical design practice to function at a more strategic level, and poised the business for rapid growth while retaining the magical ingredients which make their Product Design work so incredible. Some of the work they oversaw include the final version of Notarize, National Geographic/Unesco World Heritage Journey, Lonely Planet Trips (currently top on iTunes), Jam Music, Collector Gallery, Uber Rider App Rethink, Google AMP mobile VR prototype to demonstrate Google’s AMP programming language, and launched the first digitally activated, fully automated restaurant for WOW BAO in Chicago on November 28th, 2017.

Michael "Howie" Howatson completed a Bachelor of Arts at Western University, with a focus in Fine Arts & Film. Michael then went on to Sheridan College for a Classical Animation diploma, and studied Animation for Multimedia.
