Alwyn Odendaal

Alwyn Odendaal is the current Chief Human Capital Officer at Intercape. Prior to this, they were the HR Service Delivery Regional Lead: Sub-Saharan Africa for ELEMENTS GLOBAL SERVICES from September 2019 to February 2021. Alwyn has also served as a Human Resources Business Consultant for Chartered HR Consulting from March 2021 to September 2021.

Odendaal has over 25 years of experience in the field of human resources. Alwyn began their career as an HR Practitioner at Boskop Training Center and SAPS Industrial Psychology Department from March 1997 to October 1998 and November 1995 to February 1997 respectively. Alwyn then worked as an HR Consultant for Merkicor from November 1998 to September 2000 before becoming the HR Director for Group Five Housing from October 2000 to October 2017. Most recently, they were transferred to Group Five Projects (SMEIP) as Senior Human Resources Manager after a restructuring of Group Five Construction in November 2017 and held that position until July 2019.

Alwyn Odendaal has a B. Com in Industrial Psychology from the University of Pretoria/Universiteit van Pretoria. Alwyn also has a certification from SABPP in Commissioner of Oaths and a certification from the University of Pretoria/Universiteit van Pretoria in Registered Psychometrist.

Alwyn Odendaal works with Arno Van Den Heever - CFO, Stephan Hamman - COO, and Shaun Smeda - Chief Commercial Officer. Their manager is Johann Ferreira, Executive Director & CEO.
