Nathaniel Hoyer-Lopez has a diverse work experience that spans several industries. Nathaniel began their career as a SA IV - Chemistry Stockroom Assistant at Cabrillo College from September 2011 to June 2013. Nathaniel then worked as an Undergraduate Student Researcher at UC Santa Cruz, where they focused on soft macro-molecular polymer self-assemblies for light absorption and energy transfer. From August 2014 to June 2015, their research aimed to create a novel organic photo-cell for solar power. Following this, Nathaniel joined the Cambridge learning center as a General Science Tutor from August 2015 to August 2016. Nathaniel then worked as a Lab Technician at DNA Electronics, contributing to the development of a pathogen capture system and preparing labs for ISO-14385 certification from August 2016 to March 2017. Nathaniel then joined BioLegend and held two roles. First as a Manufacturing Associate, performing high-scale bioconjugations and facilitating the transfer of finished goods between departments, along with training coworkers on SOPs and improving work schedules. From December 2019 to the present, their role transitioned to Quality Control Associate II, where they test manufactured conjugated antibodies using flow cytometry and is proficient in FCS Express and Flowjo software. Most recently, Nathaniel joined Intercept Pharmaceuticals in May 2021 as a QC Medical Writing Support.

Nathaniel Hoyer-Lopez pursued their education in a chronological order. Nathaniel started their academic journey in 2008, enrolling at Cabrillo College. During their time there, they obtained an Associate's Degree in Chemistry and another Associate's Degree in Biology, General. Nathaniel successfully completed their studies at Cabrillo College in 2013.

Following their time at Cabrillo College, Nathaniel Hoyer-Lopez continued their academic pursuits at the University of California, Santa Cruz. From 2013 to 2015, they attended the university and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry.
