Rick Doane has a diverse work experience, ranging from executive leadership to teaching. Rick started their career as a Missionary for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints from 1999 to 2001. Rick then worked as an Information Technology Supervisor at Brigham Young University from 2002 to 2004. After that, they joined Project Bread, where they held various positions from 2004 to 2009, including Assistant Office Manager, Assistant Manager of Operations and Allocations, and finally, Allocations and Operations Manager. In 2009, they became the Executive Director of Interfaith Social Services, a role in which they manage and operates the agency's programs, fundraises, develops the board, handles public relations, and writes grants. Currently, they are an Adjunct Faculty at Suffolk University - Sawyer Business School, starting in 2022.
Rick Doane completed a Bachelor of Arts degree in Latin American History from Brigham Young University in 2004. Rick then pursued a Masters degree in Public Administration from Suffolk University - Sawyer Business School from 2006 to 2008. Prior to their university studies, they attended South Shore Charter High School from 1995 to 1998.

Interfaith Social Services is a multiservice center for South Shore families in need. Programs include: • The Pantry Shelf: serving thousands of hungry South Shore residents each year. One of Greater Boston’s largest food pantries. • New Directions: mental health counseling for adults, children, couples, and families • HomeSafe: homelessness prevention for hundreds of local families every year • Bureau Drawer: a boutique-style thrift shop, open to the community, and operated entirely by volunteers. All sales benefit Interfaith’s programs. • The Learning Pantry: educating food pantry clients about vital life skills • Harvest Helpers: a community gardening initiative to supply food pantries with healthy food • Career Closet: outfits low-income job seekers with free professional attire One of the South Shore’s most popular centers for volunteering and community engagement.
