Dee Taylor has a diverse work experience in various organizations. In 2023, Dee joined the Canadian Health Leadership Network (CHLNet) as a Senior Research Advisor. Prior to that, in 2020, Dee worked as the Scientific Director at the Rural Coordination Centre of BC. From 2016, Dee held the position of Adjunct Professor at The University of British Columbia. In 2014, Dee started working at the Interior Health Authority, where they held the roles of Corporate Director and Regional Practice Leader, Research & Knowledge Translation until 2016. In 2018, Dee became a Board Member at the YMCA of Okanagan, a position they held until 2022. From 2006 to 2014, Dee worked at the Fraser Health Authority, where they held various roles including Project Leader, Residential Care & Assisted Living, Fraser Health, Residential Care Consultant, and Disability Management Consultant. Additionally, Dee worked as a Disability Management Consultant at the Univ of Alberta from 2001 to 2006, a Rehab Coordinator at CBI Health in Edmonton, AB from 1999 to 2001, and an Exercise Therapist at WCB Alberta Millard Centre from 1998 to 1999.
Dee Taylor has a diverse education history. They first attended the University of Alberta from 1989 to 1993, earning a Bachelor of Physical Education (BPE) with a focus on Athletic Therapy. Later, from 2007 to 2010, they returned to school at the University of Calgary, where they obtained a Masters in Disability & Community Studies, specializing in Community Health Science. Following this, Dee completed their Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) at the University of Calgary from 2010 to 2015, majoring in Community Health Science. Finally, they pursued further studies at Mount Saint Vincent University from 2016 to 2018, working as a Postdoctoral Fellow in the field of Gerontology Health Policy.
