Yao Liang Wong

Senior Director, Translational Biology at Interline Therapeutics

Yao Liang Wong has a strong background in the field of biology and has gained significant experience throughout their career. Starting in 2005, they worked as a Graduate Student at Northwestern University - The Feinberg School of Medicine. Following this, Yao Liang Wong joined Ludwig Cancer Research as a Postdoctoral Fellow, where they led a cross-functional effort to develop the first selective PLK4 inhibitor and conducted research on the mechanisms of centrosome formation in mammalian cells and the nematode C. elegans. During this time, they published seven papers in prestigious journals. In 2015, Yao Liang Wong joined Calico Life Sciences as a Scientist II and later progressed to the role of Senior Scientist, Principal Scientist, and finally Associate Director and Principal Project Team Leader. Yao Liang'sresponsibilities included leading project teams, contributing to drug discovery and development, and overseeing scientific research. Currently, Yao Liang Wong is employed at Interline Therapeutics as a Senior Director of Translational Biology.

Yao Liang Wong received a BSc (Hons) in Biochemistry from the University of Toronto in the period of 2001 to 2005. Later, between 2005 and 2010, Wong pursued a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Biochemistry, Biophysics, and Molecular Biology from Northwestern University - The Feinberg School of Medicine. In addition to the formal education, Wong also obtained several certifications from Coursera, including "Design and Interpretation of Clinical Trials" in December 2020, "Bayesian Statistics: From Concept to Data Analysis (with Honors)" in October 2019, "Drug Commercialization" in June 2019, "Drug Development" in May 2019, and "Drug Discovery" in May 2019.
