Lillian Shields, LCSW, LSSBB

Lillian Shields, LCSW, LSSBB has a diverse work experience in various roles and organizations. Lillian is currently working as a Strategy Manager at InterMed, P.A. since October 2021. Previously, they worked at MaineHealth from October 2018 to October 2021, where they served as a Coach and Trainer for Operational Excellence and Strategy Deployment. In this role, they managed teams and advanced process improvement skills through Lean and Six-Sigma methodology.

Before that, Lillian worked at Maine Behavioral Healthcare from May 2016 to October 2018. Lillian held two positions during their tenure, first as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, where they conducted assessments, therapy, and facilitated groups. Later, they worked as an MST Clinician, providing therapy and support.

In 2015, Lillian worked briefly at Holocaust Impact & Coping as a Research Assistant, where they coded qualitative interviews with Holocaust survivors. Lillian also worked as a Clinical Social Work Intern at Maine Behavioral Healthcare, conducting interventions, assessments, and collaborating with outpatient providers.

Prior to that, Lillian worked at the University of Maine from January 2013 to May 2015 as an Instructor for Peer Education. In this role, they organized programs, trained volunteers, and taught a project management-based course. Lillian also supervised student employees.

In 2012, Lillian gained experience at the Vermont Department for Children and Families as a Policy & Practice Guidance Specialist, providing assistance in policy development. Lillian also worked as the Director of the Youth Development Committee at the Vermont Youth Development Program, striving to improve practice and permanency for older youth.

In 2011, Lillian worked as a Case Manager and Resource Specialist at The Primavera Foundation, where they provided counseling and support to homeless men.

Throughout their career, Lillian has amassed a wide range of skills and experiences in clinical social work, psychotherapy, program management, and policy development.

Lillian Shields, LCSW, LSSBB has a diverse education history spanning several years. Lillian earned their Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Sociology, Women's Studies, and Black Studies from Providence College, where they studied from 2007 to 2011. During the same period, they also pursued a Master of Arts (M.A.) degree in Sociology from Providence College.

Later, Lillian pursued a Master of Social Work (M.S.W.) degree at the University of Maine from 2013 to 2015, specializing in the field of Social Work. As part of their professional development, they obtained a license as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker from the National Association of Social Workers in October 2015. This certification acknowledges their expertise and qualification in their field.
