David Smith

David Smith has been Managing Director of InterMoor A/S, previously known as IOS Offshore, since 2007. David has worked with mooring equipment supply in the offshore oil and gas industry since 1978, a career that started with the US chain manufacturer Baldt Inc. in Houston and later expanded to sales positions in Pennsylvania related to US Navy contracts and eventually an international posting as Managing Director in Aberdeen, Scotland. In 1987, David relocated to Stavanger, Norway, and started work for Balmoral Norge, a mooring equipment supply company, where he held positions as Sales Manager and Managing Director over a 16-year period. In 2003, David joined IOS Offshore as Sales and Marketing Manager and was an integral member of the business during a tremendous growth period of the private owned company that eventually led to the sale of the business to its present owners, Acteon Group.
