Dr. M. Anthony Harper

Dr. M. Anthony Harper has a diverse work experience spanning several decades. Dr. M. Anthony started their career as a musician, singing professionally and playing piano and trumpet on gospel concert tours across the United States. Dr. M. Anthony also made guest appearances at churches and on television and radio programs.

In 1981, Dr. Harper became a Drug Abuse/Nutrition Guest Speaker, offering anger management, alcohol abuse, and substance abuse education and counseling services with Ada County Court in Idaho. Dr. M. Anthony also taught workshops on "Self Esteem - A Biblical View" through the Community Education Program and shared their knowledge on drug abuse, suicide, and nutrition through speaking engagements across the United States and Canada.

In 1985, Dr. Harper briefly worked as an Assistant Drug Counselor at Port of Hope. Dr. M. Anthony then founded Shiloh Counseling Center, Inc. in 1987, where they served as a counselor and the executive director. As part of this nonprofit Biblical counseling ministry, they provided counseling services and founded the Children of Hope Family Hospital, a proposed hospital project.

In 2001, Dr. Harper co-founded and became the publisher and president of InterMountain Christian News, a Christian news source covering Idaho, Oregon, Utah, Wyoming, and Colorado. Dr. M. Anthony also established the Treasure Valley Christian Newspaper as part of this venture.

Since 2009, Dr. Harper has served as a chaplain at the Shiloh Counseling Center. Dr. M. Anthony became a Chaplain, Capt. with the Civil Air Patrol Chaplain Corps in 2022, a volunteer position with the U.S. Air Force Auxiliary. Throughout their career, Dr. M. Anthony Harper has demonstrated a commitment to serving others and spreading their faith through various roles and positions.

Dr. M. Anthony Harper has a diverse education history spanning multiple decades. Dr. M. Anthony attained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication with a focus on Journalism/Media Studies and a minor in Music from Boise State University from 2015 to 2018. Prior to that, in 1989 through 1996, they pursued a Ph.D. in Psychology from California Coast University. Additionally, in 1989 to 1990, they engaged in post-graduate work in Counseling at Liberty University.

During the 1980s, Dr. Harper pursued further education by completing a Master of Education degree in General Guidance and Counseling from The College of Idaho during 1984 to 1986. In 1983, they obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Liberal Studies from The University of the State of New York.

In the early years of their education, Dr. Harper obtained an FCC First Class License for Engineering First Class License Test Preparation from the Ron Bailie School of Broadcast in 1979. However, they did not complete a degree at that time. Similarly, they pursued Music studies at Idaho State University from 1973 until 1979, but did not attain a degree.

Furthermore, in 1972, Dr. Harper pursued studies in Auto Mechanics at Eastern Idaho Vo-Tech, but also did not complete a degree program.
