Eric Markow has over three decades of experience in information technology and project management, primarily with the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) from June 1992 to September 2024. As the Acting Deputy CIO for Strategy & Modernization, Markow served as a principal advisor to the CIO, overseeing a workforce of over 8,500 employees and managing a technology budget exceeding $4 billion. Markow's achievements include modernizing IRS notice capabilities and implementing digital communication tools for taxpayers, as well as leading critical projects aligned with the Inflation Reduction Act. Prior experience includes working as an Information Technology Project Engineer at URS Corporation, where Markow led teams to implement IT solutions for various clients. Markow holds a Bachelor of Science in Engineering from Virginia Tech.
