Heather Friesen

Heather Friesen is an experienced educator currently serving as the Head of Academics and Professional Learning at Branksome Hall, where a career spanning over two decades includes roles as Head of Academics, Head of the Middle School, Assistant Head of Middle School, and IB Middle Years Program Coordinator. In addition to this, Heather has been affiliated with the International Baccalaureate since 2005, taking on various leadership positions such as Coach, Workshop Leader Training, and Senior Reviewer in Building Quality Curriculum. Heather also contributes to the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education of the University of Toronto as a Course Developer and Facilitator for the IB Program. Prior experience includes working as an Education Officer at TVOntario and as Head of the Science Department at St. George's School of Montreal. Heather holds a Diploma in Education from McGill University and a combined MSc/BSc Hon in Microbiology from the University of Toronto.
