Scott van Poppel

Scott van Poppel is an experienced medical professional currently serving as the Adult and Administrative Medical Director for MedCity - One and previously held the role of Chief of Staff at Medical City Plano until February 2024. With a long tenure at Envision Physician Services since July 2010, Scott has contributed as an Intensivist in the Surgical/Trauma ICU and has also held the position of Critical Care Medical Director, where responsibilities included leading a critical care program through significant growth and the challenges of the COVID crisis in 2020 and 2021. Additionally, Scott van Poppel is the Critical Care Section Chief for the International Board of Specialty Certifications and has been the Critical Care Medical Director for PHI Air Medical since July 2016. Educational qualifications include a Doctor of Medicine from The University of Texas Medical Branch and a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Texas Lutheran University.
