Shamir Shehab is an experienced leader in environmental initiatives and sustainable development, currently serving as Executive Director of the Bangladesh Youth Environmental Initiative (BYEI) since July 2021. Shamir co-founded and acts as Managing Partner of the Catalyzing Sustainable Transformation (CaST) Network, which focuses on evidence-driven policy research for development challenges in the Global South. Additionally, Shamir lectures on public policy and administration at North South University and conducts research for the International Centre for Climate Change and Development (ICCCAD) on climate finance and policy. Previous roles include consulting for Oxford Policy Management and Green Climate Fund, along with prominent positions at Friendship NGO and BYEI, where Shamir founded the organization and implemented various environmental leadership programs. Shamir's academic credentials include a Master of Public Administration from Cornell University and a Master of Arts in International Relations from Peking University.
