Atheer Alkabsi is a Senior Environmental Engineer at the Designated National Authority since May 2022, and serves as a Consultative Expert for the UN Climate Change on behalf of Asia Pacific since January 2023. Prior roles include Decision Support Senior Analyst at the Public Investment Fund from June 2019 to April 2022, where Atheer worked in various capacities including Decision Support Analyst and On-Job Trainee. Earlier experience includes serving as a Graduate Research Assistant at KAUST, focusing on the early detection of the Red Palm Weevil, and working as a Teacher Assistant at Thamer International School. Atheer holds a Master of Science in Environmental Science & Engineering from KAUST and a Bachelor’s Degree in Biotechnology from King AbdulAziz University, along with Executive Education from the University of California, Berkeley, and Cornell Johnson Graduate School of Management.
