Abel Akara Ticha

Abel Akara Ticha is a seasoned communications professional with extensive experience in various high-profile organizations. Currently serving as a Senior Communications Officer for the International Crisis Group since February 2023, Ticha previously held pivotal roles at the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa, where responsibilities included managing communications for major conferences and events across Central Africa. Ticha has also contributed significantly to the African Capacity Building Foundation by developing comprehensive communication strategies and supporting initiatives in STEM education. Earlier career highlights include positions at the British High Commission in Cameroon and Cameroon Radio Television, where Ticha excelled in public diplomacy, media relations, and journalism. Ticha holds a Master of Arts in Journalism and Media Studies from Rhodes University and a Bachelor of Science in Journalism and Mass Communication from the University of Buea.
