Comfort Ero is an experienced leader in the field of international relations, currently serving as President of the International Crisis Group since January 2011, having also held roles as Interim Vice President and Africa Program Director within the organization. Prior to this, Comfort Ero was the Deputy Director for Africa at the International Center for Transitional Justice from February 2008 to October 2010 and worked as a Political Affairs & Policy Adviser for the United Nations Mission in Liberia from February 2004 to December 2007. Comfort Ero earned a PhD in International Relations from The London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) between 1994 and 1999.
