Margarite Clarey

Margarite Clarey serves as a Senior Communications and Advocacy Officer at the International Crisis Group since February 2023, following roles as a Writer and Content Producer, as well as Communications and Advocacy Advisor at Mercy Corps. Clarey's experience also encompasses various journalism and editorial positions focused on migration, development, and humanitarian crises, with notable contributions to outlets like Al Jazeera and The New Humanitarian. Previous roles include Communications Coordinator for the International Rescue Committee's Tat Lan Programme, Advocacy Coordinator at Save the Children International, and research fellowships at the Internal Displacement Monitoring Centre and Transparency International. Clarey holds a Master’s Degree in International Affairs from the Geneva Graduate Institute and a Bachelor of International Studies from The University of Queensland. Additional training includes broadcast journalism at Monash University.
