Marcela Ruiz

Marcela Ruiz is a distinguished academic and researcher in the field of Software Engineering, currently serving as a Professor and Deputy Head of the Software Engineering Research group at ZHAW Institute of Computer Science since July 2019. In addition to roles at ZHAW, Marcela has been the Secretary of the Board of WG 8.1 Design and Evaluation of Information Systems for the International Federation for Information Processing since January 2022 and serves as an External Researcher at Universitat Politècnica de València, supervising PhD students in Model-Driven Software Engineering. Previous positions include Assistant Professor at Utrecht University and Project Manager at Suramericana de Seguros S.A. Marcela holds a PhD in Computer Sciences from Universitat Politècnica de València and has contributed to research and education extensively, including international collaborations and innovation exchange programs.
