Birgitte Bischoff Ebbesen

Birgitte Bischoff Ebbesen has spent more than 15 years working with the Danish Red Cross heading disaster management programmes in the Asia Pacific region.

Prior to joining the IFRC, she was the International Director of Danish Red Cross, responsible for all international operations. She also co-chaired the IFRC Reference Centre for Psychosocial Support in Denmark.

Birgitte has previously run repatriation programmes for the Danish Refugee Council in Somalia and Guatemala, as well as working on fundraising and external relations for the UN Refugee Agency in Belgium.
