John Anthony Roche

John Anthony Roche is an experienced leader in humanitarian operations, currently serving as the Head of Country Cluster Delegation for Zimbabwe, Zambia, and Malawi at the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) since May 2019. Previously, John held several significant roles within the Irish Red Cross, including Head of International Relations and Cooperation and Interim Secretary General. With a solid background in disaster management and food security, John has overseen regional strategies for South Asia and played a pivotal role in international operations, including as Head of the India delegation and Operations Coordinator for Africa at IFRC. John’s extensive experience spans over three decades in various capacities with organizations such as the ICRC, where John managed humanitarian programs across multiple regions. John holds a degree from the Development Studies Center Kimmage, contributing to a rich foundation in international humanitarian work.
