Advit Nath

Controller & Director, Financial Controller’s Division at International Fund for Agricultural Development

Advit Nath is Director and Controller of the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD). He is responsible for integrity and transparency in accounting, reporting, and control of IFAD’s resources. He manages Financial Reporting; Controllership; Corporate Fiduciary (e.g. supplementary funds, treasury/contributions accounting, fixed assets); Financial Systems and Data Integrity; and Transactions processing of operations (e.g. payroll, loans, and grants).

Before joining the Fund in December 2016, Nath was Chief of the Global Corporate Financial Reporting and Agency Services Division at the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) since 2012. His previous experience includes heading UNFPA’s Global Country Offices Support Division, UNDP’s Global Policy Implementation team for the IPSAS Project, and Sr. Audit Manager in the Office of the Auditor General of Canada and National Audit Office of Australia. He was a part-time Professor at Canada’s Carleton University and an Associate at KPMG.

Nath holds a master’s degree in Human Rights Law (LL.M) and is a Canadian Chartered Accountant (CA) as well as Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA). He is a Fellow of the British Royal Society of Arts, volunteers on the Audit Committee of the United Nations Federal Credit Union (UNFCU), and guest lectures at various universities.
