International Fund for Agricultural Development
Bernadette Mukonyora currently serves as the Country Representative for the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) in Lilongwe, Malawi, overseeing the establishment and operation of IFAD's Country Office. With a focus on a portfolio exceeding USD 450 million, Bernadette leads efforts to provide essential services and infrastructure to over 800,000 individuals in rural areas. Previously, Bernadette held positions as Country Director for Eritrea and South Sudan, managing a combined portfolio of over USD 100 million, and as Regional Grants Programme Coordinator, coordinating a USD 120 million portfolio across East and Southern Africa. Earlier work includes contributions as a Junior Consultant at the FAO, supporting member state representatives on policy reforms. Bernadette's academic qualifications include master's degrees in Food Systems and International Agri-food Governance, and Social Sciences, as well as a bachelor's degree in Social Sciences and a certificate in Executive Presence for Women.
