Anindya Bhattacharya

Anindya Bhattacharya is a seasoned expert in energy systems and climate change with extensive experience spanning several organizations. Currently serving as a Technical Advisor at Sustainable Energy for All since June 2024, Anindya also holds the position of Executive Director at The Celestial Earth and has been a Guest Research Scholar at the International Institute for Applied Systems Analysis since April 2017. Previous roles include leading the development of a national energy model at NITI Aayog and holding various positions at renowned institutions such as Ernst & Young and the Institute for Global Environmental Strategies. Anindya's academic background includes a Ph.D. in Energy Science and Economics from Kyoto University, complemented by degrees in Resource Economics, Energy Management, and Physics from prestigious universities. Areas of expertise encompass energy systems modeling, macromodeling for climate policy, and the economics of ecosystem services.
