Leila Niamir has extensive experience in climate change research and urban health, currently serving as a member of the Urban Health and Well-being Working Group at The InterAcademy Partnership and as a Lead Author for the IPCC's Special Report on Climate Change and Cities. Since 2020, Leila has led the Urban Futures Hub and worked as a Research Scholar at the International Institute for Applied Systems Analysis, contributing to energy, climate, and environment programs. Additional roles include serving as a member-elect and co-lead at the Global Young Academy and participating in various IPCC reports. Previous experience includes postdoctoral research at the Robert Bosch Stiftung and the Mercator Research Institute on Global Commons and Climate Change. Leila holds a PhD in Computational Economics and Sustainability Governance from the University of Twente.
