Melanie Lane is the Director at International Justice Mission. Melanie has over 10 years of experience working in the nonprofit sector in the UK, specializing in fundraising, policy, and operations.
Lane began their career as a Partnership Development Officer at Fairbridge, a charity that supports young people in the UK who are struggling with homelessness, addiction, and other issues. Melanie then spent two years as the Regional Policy & Development Manager at Rathbone, a charity that works with young people who have been in trouble with the law.
In 2011, Lane became the Development Director at Cardboard Citizens, a theater company that uses drama to help homeless people in the UK. Melanie was responsible for income generation and oversight of marketing, communications, and data. In 2012, they became the Head of Fundraising at Changemakers (which merged into the Foyer Federation in September 2014), where they were responsible for income generation, partnership building, and devising and implementing the fundraising strategy and donor cultivation plan.
Since September 2014, Lane has been the Director of Operations at the Foyer Federation, where they are responsible for coordinating fundraising, finance, HR, office management and IT. The Foyer Federation works to get the best deal for young people experiencing homelessness by supporting a network of UK Foyers.
Melanie Lane has a Diploma in Charity Accounting from ICAEW, a Master of Science (MSc) in Voluntary Sector Management from Cass Business School, and a BA (Hons) in Spanish and Geography from the University of Leeds. Melanie also has a BA in Spanish and Georgraphy from Universidad de Granada, specializing in Spanish Language and Literature.
