Ashwani Aggarwal

Ashwani Aggarwal, PhD, is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in skills policy, lifelong learning, and digitalization, currently serving as the Head of Skills and Lifelong Learning Policy and Digitalization at the International Labour Organization since September 2008. Previous roles include work group leader for Work-based Learning, Apprenticeships, and Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL), Senior Regional Skills and Employment Specialist, and African Regional Youth Employment Coordinator. Prior to joining the International Labour Organization, Ashwani served as Joint Director at the Ministry of Labour & Employment in the Government of India and held positions such as Head of Training Centre at Advanced Training Institute and Service Engineer at Ashok Leyland. Academic qualifications include a Ph.D. in Management and an MBA with a major in Financial Management, alongside multiple prestigious educational credentials from renowned institutions including Harvard University, Yale University, and Bielefeld University.
