James Blakeney

James Blakeney currently serves as Chief of Security at the International Monetary Fund since December 2015, following a successful tenure at Control Risks from April 2007 to November 2015, where multiple roles included Managing Director for the Americas and Regional Managing Director for various global regions. Blakeney's extensive experience in risk management and security consulting spans crisis management, strategic account relationships, and the establishment of operational capabilities across multiple regions, including a significant role as Country Manager in China. Prior military experience includes serving as an officer in the Australian Army from 1992 to 2001. Educational qualifications include a Bachelor of Economics from James Cook University and an Associate Diploma in Linguistics from the Australian Defence Force School of Languages.
