Shamim Ahmed

Shamim Ahmed is an experienced professional currently serving as a Migrants Counselor at IOM - UN Migration since July 2023. With an extensive background in peacebuilding, Shamim has held the position of Peace Coordinator at People against Violence in Election since June 2015, focusing on reducing political violence in Bangladesh through workshops and community engagement. Additionally, Shamim is an Associate Fellow at The Royal Commonwealth Society and has contributed as a RTI Activist with The Asia Foundation from February 2021 to July 2023. Prior roles include National Facilitator at British Council, Human Rights Champion with The Hunger Project, and National Coordinator at Youth Ending Hunger-Bangladesh. Education includes a Master of Arts in English Literature from Narsingdi Government College and ongoing studies in Law at National University of Bangladesh.
