Dennis Dias has extensive experience in education, currently serving as a Special Education Coordinator, Intervention Teacher, and Special Education Teacher at the NYC Department of Education since September 2013. Dias has led inclusive instructional practices and developed culturally responsive literacy interventions tailored to urban schools. Additionally, Dias works as the Lead Teacher for the Newcomer Youth Summer Academy at the International Rescue Committee, focusing on trauma-informed education for refugee and immigrant students. In a recent role as an EducationUSA Intern at the U.S. Department of State, Dias provided guidance to first-generation international students on overcoming barriers to higher education. Education credentials include a Master of Arts in Urban Studies from the CUNY School of Labor and Urban Studies, a Graduate Certificate in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages from Mercy University, and a Master of Science in International Policy Management from Kennesaw State University, among others.
