Sara was born and raised in south western Ontario. Growing up she was always passionate about working with students and began her career as a Social Service Worker, with a focus on child well-being. During this time, she realized her enthusiasm for education and curriculum development and began her journey towards becoming a teacher. Sara completed her Bachelor’s Degree in History, a subject she was passionate about teaching, and then went on to graduate with a Bachelor in Education from the University of Western Ontario. With a keen interest in curriculum development, Sara went on to complete her Master’s in Education as Queen’s University in Ontario, specializing in innovative Classroom and Assessment Practices.
Sara has worked collaboratively over the years to develop, implement and teach the Primary Years, Middle Years and Diploma Programme of the International Baccalaureate Organization; furthering her knowledge of inquiry-based learning. She also served as an evaluator for Cognia, working with schools who are seeking accreditation. As a Head of School she continues to strive for excellence in education, encouraging an atmosphere where communication, critical thinking, inquiry, collaboration and interpersonal skills are at the forefront for both students and faculty.
