Alexandra Newton has extensive work experience in the field of biochemistry and molecular biology. From 2018 onwards, they have been involved with the International Union of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology (IUBMB) in various leadership positions. Alexandra served as the President Elect from July 2018 to July 2021 and is currently serving as the President. Additionally, they have been a Distinguished Professor of Pharmacology at the University of California at San Diego since 1995.
Alexandra Newton obtained a PhD in Chemistry from Stanford University between the years 1980 and 1986.
