Ilona Levine is the SVP & General Counsel at Internet Society. Ilona has over 20 years of experience in the telecommunications industry. Ilona was previously the General Counsel, Legal Affairs and Corporate Communications at China Telecom Americas. During their time there, they built the company’s first legal function and assembled a high-performing Legal team. Ilona also served as a strategic thought partner and legal advisor on complex commercial transactions, business development, policy initiatives and execution.

In their current role, they oversee legal strategy for the company overall, as well as a wide variety of product, regulatory, and commercial opportunities. Ilona also oversees the team responsible for reviewing and negotiating customer and business partner contracts and serves as key C-level advisor on all major business transactions. Additionally, they evaluate the impact to the business of U.S. and international legislative, regulatory, legal developments.

Ilona Levine has a Juris Doctor from Harvard Law School and a Bachelor’s degree in International Relations from Yale University.

Ilona Levine has a Doctor of Law (J.D.) from Rutgers Law School as well as 3 years towards law degree from Moldova University School of Law. Ilona also has a Bachelor's degree from The City University of New York.

A direct report to Ilona Levine is and Eyad Saqr - Counsel. They are on a team with Natalie Campbell - Director, Community Organizing & Public Advocacy, Kristi Mason - Head of Marketing Communications, and Hosein Badran - Senior Director, Internet Growth & Trust. Ilona Levine reports to Andrew Sullivan, President & CEO.
